In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Half and Half.”
The weekly challenge has inspired me to review my photos, delete duplicates and similar photos, and remember events. It has also allowed me to view the photography of others and learn some new techniques. For this week’s challenge I realized that sunsets with water and sky, or land and sky are popular subjects for me.
My first photo seems to fit the half and half with my daughter and her family’s feet on the beach. Notice the big hairy feet to the left and the baby feet:)
The next couple of photos have me rethinking my sleeping pattern. Sunset photos seem to populate my album because I am a night owl. Looks like its time to change the sleeping schedule to allow for some early morning walks and sunrise photos. I am not sure if I have witnessed the sunrise since BASIC training in Ft. Leonard Wood Missouri. Here are some of my favorite sunsets from various locations, not all are labeled because truthfully I just pull out the camera and snap as I travel.
And – a couple of more favorite half and half photos. Below you will see one of my favorite scenes from a cruise to Alaska. The whole trip was breathtaking. The other photo is a winter scene of the Adirondack Mountains. Carrying my camera in the car has become a must for it allows for photo shoots along my travels. While traveling for work I visit the Adirondack Mountains quite regularly. The scenery is ever changing and always big and beautiful but not quite as expansive as Alaska.
Please let me know if you have any favorites from this selection of photos or if any ‘spoke’ to you. Many of the chosen photos were prior to the gift of my camera and interest in photography. Each photo lifts my spirits and hopefully they will lift yours too.
Love and Light!
