Essential Oil – Creating Roller Balls and More

This past year some of my attention has been focused on creating blends of essential oils using roller balls, creating diffuser bracelets and necklaces, and, of course, photography. Participating in craft fairs and facilitating creativity classes has been an uplifting experience for those attending and for myself. Recently I decided to move forward with Spirit of Dragonflies and begin a partnership with others at a location outside of my home. This is a place to hold my own classes and attend other uplifting classes, meet with coaching clients, and practice Therapeutic Touch. Once I made up my mind to move forward I connected with not 1 but 2 different leaders in the integrative therapy field starting businesses at locations within minutes from my home.

When meeting with the leaders one made me feel uplifted while the other was unsure of his success. One was supported by numerous family and friends in the area, the other had some supports including the landlord however his energy going into this was low. As it turned out, I am now only working with the uplifted individual and every time I walk into her location I feel welcomed, supported, and connected.

Saturday was my first class at one the new location. It was her grand opening weekend and many activities were taking place – yoga, music, and other classes. My class was the essential oil roller ball class with a discussion of the level of vibration of health vs illness and the vibration of nature and essential oils. After discussion of vibrations we discussed essential oils, proper uses, and safety precautions. Then everyone in the class prepared a roller ball to take home.

For those of you unsure of what a roller ball is this is the photo of the end product.

We created some Abundance essential oil roller balls. We all had a wonderful time learning about raising our vibration and how each essential oil has a  vibration that resonates with certain vibrations of our body.

During Saturday’s class, we used several doTERRA essential oils to create a unique blend for participants to breathe in while reading abundance affirmations. The roller balls were perfect for this class with the gold tops and small gold clasp. We added a few small Frankincense and Myrhh resins to the gradient color roller ball which were purchased from Esarora. We added a gold string and labeled with Abundance. They smell wonderful.

A week after the class I heard that the class participants were carrying their roller balls and finding that smelling them throughout the day was an uplifting experience. The combination that was chosen due to the properties of each oil and the vibration was perfect. Wish I could share the scent through the blog.

At work I witness the effects of peppermint on a regular basis. In the afternoon of a training many times the participants lose their attention span and interest in the training material. When they place a drop of the peppermint essential oil in the palm of their hand and rub their hands together to warm it up, then place their hands to their nose taking in the scent, it energizes them up. This is better than a cup of afternoon coffee or chocolate.

In the office when people look sluggish I spray a little OnGuard into the air cleaner or on my own hands. The scent slowly spreads throughout the room and there is an immediate response from coworkers. They sit a bit taller and smile a little more. The administrative assistant aways loves the energizing effects.

For me, adding essential oils into my life has been an eye-opening experience. Peppermint to reduce headaches, Melaleuca for healing bruises and sore throats, lavender for restful sleep and so many more have been used. I love using the oils in a diffuser. My home smells lovely and many of the essential oils help cleanse the air. There are so many uses for essential oils that I have not even discovered the tip of possibilities.

Remember, not all essential oils are equal. It is best to use Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade (CPTG) essential oils (EO). You will be able to tell the difference in quality. Some of the less expensive, perfume oils, will not float in water. If the essential oil is not a true oil it will not float on water. There are other ways to determine the quality beyond the price. It may appear doTERRA is costly, however when learning of the cost per drop and how one drop is all that is needed you will begin to appreciate the high quality oils and only want the best for yourself and your family.

Essential oils are great for making your own cleaning supplies. I love adding a couple of drops of lemon EO to white vinegar and water for squeaky clean windows. Add white vinegar and lemon to the rinse cycle for nice smelling clothing. Lemon oil will remove marks from a white board or black heel marks from linoleum floors. There are many ways to use the EO so you can eliminate chemicals from your home and personal products. With all of the information on pollutants in our homes from carpets, furnishings, cleaning supplies, and the electromagnetic fields, it feels good to know that we can have a little control over our environment.

Have you used essential oils yourself? If so, which have you used and in what manner?
