Out of This World – WPC

This week, share a photo that takes a familiar scene — a place you frequent, a face you know well, an activity you engage in regularly — and makes it look and feel like something out of this world. Feel free to interpret the theme as loosely as you see fit. I look forward to seeing your photos!

Do you ever notice anything that seems out of this world?

I found these four scenes a little ‘out of this world.’

Circle around cloudDSC_0110 (1)DSC_0218IMG_0091

In the first photo the cloud hung over Saranac Lake as the men were cutting ice for the ice castle. As you can see it was very large and lingered in the sky with the halo the entire time I was there.

In the second photo, I was traveling from Mechanicville, NY to Clifton Park, NY and it started to rain. It appeared as if the clouds were going to make the Toyota Dealership disappear. It was an eery feeling witnessing this.

In the third photo the clouds seemed to be a bit ghostly as they danced over the Saratoga Historical National Park.

The last photo was taken as I walked to my mother’s home. I believe this was captured with my cell at the time, it was quite a while ago. This also had a bit of an eerie feeling to the clouds. It felt as if I was witnessing a scary movie in the making.

If you pay attention, you too might find yourself witnessing something that seems just a little out of this world.

Out of This World – WPC

This week, share a photo that takes a familiar scene — a place you frequent, a face you know well, an activity you engage in regularly — and makes it look and feel like something out of this world. Feel free to interpret the theme as loosely as you see fit. I look forward to seeing your photos!

Some of the photos I have taken over the years feel out of this world to me when I view them later in the day or even a week or so after snapping the shot. Hopefully you will feel the same way when you view the photos I have selected for this challenge. Of course, there will be more than one submission for this week as this is one of many favorite topics.

Can you see the face in the melting ice or in the curtain? The different worlds within the reflections in the windows and counter?

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” ~Howard Thurman ~

Today, while passing through this beautiful day, pay attention to things that feel ‘out of this world.’ Are you open to ‘seeing’ your world through new eyes?

If you can begin to see and think differently about the world you live in, take time to notice the beauty in the midst of chaos, and find what makes you come alive – even in the ordinary – your world will change. You will change. There will be a shift  that will be noticeable to those around you. As you come ‘alive’ others will want to learn. For the sake of our children, for our society, and for future generations please come alive and participate in this world. We can all have a powerful effect on those around us, our society and our environment – today, tomorrow and in the future.

What can you do today to awaken, observe, and take action?
